This is the official home of Waterford Pride Mardi Gras Festival, an event celebrating diversity in Waterford City, Ireland. From its humble beginnings in the early 2000s, the event has grown to become one of the country's biggest pride festivals. In 2013 we take a massive leap by creating Ireland's first Mardi Gras festival.
Waterford Pride traces its roots back to the early 2000s when a team of volunteers put together the first festival. The event has grown over the years and today Waterford City is one where lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people are a welcome part of the wider community. It's this openess that prompted us to welcome the entire community to celebrate with us.
Waterford Pride Mardi Gras moves from its traditional August date to the earlier timeframe of May 27th to June 2nd for 2013. We can't guarantee the weather will be good but they don't call this the Sunny South East for nothing!
